On December 2, 2020, the horizontal well Beas 001-X8 in ultra-deep carbonate rock in northwest Sichuan, supported by the geological guidance technology undertaken by the company, was successfully drilled and encountered the dolomite reservoir 800m. After the drilling of Well Beas 001-X3 encountered the dolomite reservoir 486m, another new record was set in the Beas stone block.

The complex structure, deep reservoir burial and heterogeneity of The Beagle block, and the limited tools affected by high temperature, pose a certain challenge to the geological guidance of horizontal Wells.

Huashun Energy attaches great importance to the drilling of the target layer before sending geological guidance experts to the northwest sichuan gas department for data collection. The geological diversity work area was established, the corresponding matching of various curves was carried out, the characteristics of box body and top out and bottom out were analyzed, the occurrence of strata was extracted by using bright axis model and amplitude model, and the structural changes of strata were analyzed. The rapid modeling was used to build multiple sets of geological models and analyze the development of reservoirs. Finally, a trajectory plan suitable for Beas 001-X8 well is designed.

In order to ensure the smooth completion of drilling, the company conducts 24-hour guided tracking while drilling, and calculates the current formation dip Angle by hyperbolic fitting. Gamma imaging inversion of smiley face crying face map analysis of the trajectory of the upper and lower tangent relationship; Based on the technique of developing seismic profile along the borehole track, the current azimuth-oriented seismic profile can be observed at any time. According to the current drilling state and back-end formation model prediction, the expected trajectory is quickly simulated to provide party A and the site with a quick trajectory adjustment plan. In the end, 800m of dolomite reservoir was drilled, exceeding the design target.

The success of Well Beas 001-X8 in setting a record of dolomite reservoir drilling in northwest Sichuan has further deepened the geological understanding of Qixia Formation in The Beas Henan block and laid a solid foundation for the safe, rapid and high-quality drilling of ultra-deep Wells in northwest Sichuan and the realization of the "high yield" mode of single well.
